- Investor joins management team as VP global marketing to drive cloud strategy -
London UK, 25 March 2011: – CentraStage (http://www.centrastage.com), the leading provider of cloud based remote monitoring, management and IT automation software today announced the successful completion of a major funding round. Investment will be directed towards enhancing existing products, accelerating innovation and launching services internationally. Customers can also expect the integration of CentraStage with PSA tools, the introduction of cross-platform support for tablets and smart-phones, and the launch of CentraStage’s online component store, which will add to the flexibility and depth of the current product offering.
Managing CentraStage’s go-to-market strategy will be the newly appointed VP global marketing Sean O’Connell. O’Connell, who also invested in the funding round, has over 15 years of industry experience and was most recently director of EMEA marketing at Kaseya, where he was responsible for corporate communications, helping to drive massive year on year growth across the region.
The completion of the investment round follows another record-breaking quarter for CentraStage. In addition the company more than doubled customer numbers in the past 12 months and consolidated its relationship with major customers.
Commenting on today’s announcement, Christian Nagele, managing director at CentraStage said: “We are delighted to have completed this funding round in such uncertain times. Investor confidence in our business plan was underpinned by our cloud strategy, our unique take on remote monitoring and management and our tremendous growth quarter on quarter. Adding Sean’s extensive experience to the management team will be invaluable. This is another significant step forward for the business.”
O’Connell said: “Having the chance to invest and also join the management team was a great opportunity which I didn’t have to think long about. CentraStage has a compelling vision and is poised to offer something unique in the remote monitoring and management market. Cloud computing will significantly change the face of our industry over the next decade, and I am looking forward to helping CentraStage play a major role in reshaping the market.”
Olivier Garrigue from Mapesbury Capital Partners advised CentraStage during the funding round. Mapesbury Capital Partners is a professional strategy and corporate finance advisory business focusing on growth, competitive strategy and corporate finance. Legal Advisers were Simon Deans from BP Collins LLP representing CentraStage and Jonathan Griffith from VirtualLaw representing investors. Garrigue also joins the board.

Managed services veteran Sean O’Connell likes working with start-up software companies. And this time, O’Connell — a Kaseya veteran who also had a brief Nimsoft stint — has an opportunity to work with a software start-up in his home country of Britain. In a Skype chat earlier today, O’Connell described why he invested in CentraStage and why he ultimately joined the cloud software company. Here are highlights from the conversation.
