Christian Nagele, CEO
No-one is quite sure where he arrived from – but the filthy trainers, sweaty brow and muddy bicycle dragging from one arm suggest a love of the outdoors and an air of slightly crazed determination – or a lack of dress sense. In fact it’s both. As CEO Christian is a driving force – the company forward, the staff crazy, his car into the ground, suppliers for deals. His favourite word is ‘bullish’. In real life Christian counts pennies and goes pink in the sun. |
Ian van Reenen, CTO
Where to start? Ian is a potent mix of Steve Jobs, Spartacus, and Stephen Seagal. Responsible for the CentraStage technology vision and product strategy, Ian inhabits the rarefied world where the limitations of normal men should not bar the way to technological advancement. From the earliest sketches on the whiteboard in his garage, Ian has an unswerving dedication to bring low cost cloud-based remote monitoring and management to the masses. In his real life Ian starred in Under Siege. |
James Fletcher, Head of Marketing
Rather worryingly, James is the public face of CentraStage. Showing maturity well beyond his tender years, James keeps our community in order. Or he is subject to a community order, we’re not sure which. What we do know is that he Tweets, he blogs, he Facebooks, he Diggs, he Links-In. If you want to keep your finger on the CentraStage pulse, connect to James. |
Stuart Cringle, Sales
Stuart’s day job is to sell CentraStage (the product, not the business). He sells lots of it, and seems to enjoy it. He claims that the secret to his sales success is understanding the inner workings of IT support people, although we think it’s because he knows how to use a telephone. In his real life Stuart is a rock star. |
Lucy Thompson, Head of Finance and HR
Lucy counts beans. Lots of them. A word of warning…if you don’t pay your bills it will be Lucy who calls. You don’t want that, honestly you don’t. She also acts as the oil between the CentraStage cogs – bearing in mind that HR in CentraStage-land means managing multiple chaps with brains the size of melons, it’s a miracle that she’s almost sane. In her real life Lucy keeps our CTO in check. |
Darryl Pentz, Lead Developer Platform
Darryl is one of the melons. Which is a relief, as he is responsible for the good ship database and all who sail in her. Darryl has, from Day 1, seen cloud-based IT management as a holy crusade. Gifted with frightening levels of intelligence, Darryl rarely sees daylight and dreams in Grails. In his real life he camps on the roof of his car. |
Kevin Knoop, Lead Developer Agent
Kevin is another of our lead developers, characterised by an over-sized brain and an unhealthy love for SSL-based communications protocols. Kevin heads up development of the CentraStage agent, and has inspired a passionate following of users who can’t get enough of his remote command shell. In his real life he can squat 200kg and has thighs the size of a MySQL cluster. |
Haotian Sun, Lead Developer ComStore
Haotian lives and breathes Java, although he’s actually from China. His single-minded quest for the holy Grails has taken him from Xinjiang, to Sheffield University and now onto Prestwood, UK, the global hotspot for RMM development. In his real life Haotian inspires acute jealousy due to his collection of flash new gadgets. |
Mark Richardson, Project Manager – Development
Mark runs our QM team, and the wider team of developers. So he carries the can if there are any bugs or delays (please contact him at his home address). Mark is Mr. Process, and brings a zen-like sense of peace and calm to those mildly zany members of the team who possess brains the size of melons but whose social skills are somewhat less heavyweight. In his real life Mark is a jockey. |
Nick Abbott, Operations
To paraphrase a once-famous British politician… Uptime. Uptime. Uptime. That pretty much sums up Nick’s reason for being on Planet CentraStage, and he prides himself on being able to recite our hosting SLA from memory. He bears a frightening resemblance to Moby and produces dance music backing tracks for our product videos. In his real life Nick lives and breathes cricket, and is also known as re-mix master Absolewt. |
“Scripting Simon” McBryde, Product Specialist
Simon has the makings of a modern IT legend, although he has a mildly disturbing knowledge of the CentraStage database. Simon’s raison d’etre (that’s French) is to help CentraStage customers and create useful components for the ComStore. You want value from CentraStage? Pick up the hotline to Scripting Simon, or even better subscribe to his blog (www.ScriptingSimon.com). In his real life Simon writes scripts. |
Scott Baxter, Product Specialist
Scott is like Simon. Or Simon is like Scott. Well, it’s one or the other. Scott has seen CentraStage develop from a mere twinkle in Ian’s eye, and having once sat on the other side of the table from us (yes, he was once an end user) he is now tasked with unleashing its full potential on our lucky customers. In his real life Scott is puzzling. Sorry, likes puzzling. |
