CentraStage uses a secure client-server architecture to allow devices running CentraStage to connect to the central Community Server from anywhere. Administration is entirely browser-based, so administrators can access the management console from any PC on the Internet.
The CentraStage agent establishes a secure outbound connection to the central Community Server, sending regular audit information and event logs to its nominated account. This ongoing audit of all devices enables real-time monitoring of key parameters such as processor usage and disk space, as well as point-in-time inventory of computer assets across the environment.
The agent simultaneously polls the Community Server for any tasks that have been scheduled for execution on that device. Scheduled tasks can incorporate a vast range of functionality such as download and install a software package to one or hundreds of devices; deploy software patches or updates across selected machines; monitor software version history or application usage; deploy and execute customised scripts to a targeted group of computers.
The output of all tasks is returned to the database together with confirmation of execution, allowing for simple management and reporting. Since new software and scripts can easily be uploaded to the Community Server database, adding functionality to match your specific requirements is easily done.
